Blog #9
Initially when we talked about it in class I though he might be trying to make some commentary about society. But after I say the picture and heard more about the council member I found it offensive and wrong. Why did he have to change the color of his face to keep it funky? Why did he have to point out another race. He is saying only African Americans silence to Funk music. He is stereotyping African Americans by saying they all act in a certain way. Why couldn't he have just dressed up as himself?

I think he has a hidden problem with African Americans. That's why he always picked at those people, including the President Obama. I don't think he has any feeling about others. He just thought about entertain himself and acted selfish. He shouldn't be a council member at all.
ReplyDeleteThat's really how it looks like on his blog and I agree with you there. Also in deep understanding, that stereotyping is so abvious. By mentioning other people's name that got away from doing what he did also a nonsense because he is supposed to have a good public figure. He needs to grow up!
ReplyDeleteI know!! The way he’s expressing himself is not right. He’s a councilman, and he shouldn’t make fun of the president or anyone else. His job is to make a good decision for the city, Cotati, not represent himself as a joke of his city.
